About

A Webso Digital studio in Wrexham, building for the whole of Wales

Welsh Web Design is run by Daniel Stoychev, a full-stack developer and SEO specialist who lives and works in Wrexham. He is Bulgarian by birth, which is why this site says so rather than pretending to a Welsh childhood, and why every word of Welsh on a site we build is written or checked by a translator who has one. The studio exists because the businesses we met across North Wales had the same website: a template, stock photos, no Welsh, a form nobody received. The fix is not complicated, and the price for it is on the pricing page.

Welsh, honestly

How a studio that does not speak Welsh builds Welsh websites

By not writing the Welsh. The English is written with you and signed off; the Welsh is translated by a person who does that for a living, and a second Welsh speaker reads the pages people land on first. Our part is everything around the words: the /cy/ pages, the hreflang, the switch that keeps the page, the fonts that carry ŵ and ŷ, the process that makes it impossible to update one language and forget the other. That part was learnt on a three-language site before it was offered in Welsh, and it is the part most bilingual sites in Wales get wrong.

We would rather tell a trade in Wrexham that Welsh will not earn its keep on their site than sell it to them; the reasoning is on the bilingual page for anyone to check. This site is in English because that is the language people search for a web designer in, and its own Welsh version is on the translator's list.

What we refuse

Because we have cleaned up after every one of them

Machine-translated Welsh to look bilingual. A page for every town in Wales on a template. Keywords stuffed into a Google profile name. Bought reviews, staff reviews, and reviews asked only of the happy customers. Stock photos where a real one exists. A ranking guarantee. Each of these has cost a business its rankings or its reputation, and each is cheaper to sell than what we do, which is why the prices are on the page next to what they buy.

Find out what your website is doing for you, in plain English

Send the address, or say you have none, and tell us where in Wales you are. Daniel Stoychev reads it and replies within one working day with what a customer sees, what Google sees, whether Welsh belongs on the site, and a fixed price.
