Real builds, real numbers, and what has not been measured yet

Welsh Web Design is new. The people and the method are not: they are Webso Digital's, and the numbers below are from sites we have built and audited this year, taken from Google's own tools or from tests you can run yourself. A remapping business twenty minutes from Wrexham was third in the map pack five weeks after its new site went live; a rebuilt tuning site went from 65 to 96 on mobile speed; half of a new 22-page site of our own was indexed within four days. None of them is a bilingual site in Wales yet. When the first one has numbers, it goes here with the same caveats.

Measured

Five builds, what we did, what moved, and the caveat beside each

Results from real builds with their caveats
The buildWhat we didMeasuredCaveat
A vehicle remapping business in Chester, new site, July 2026Built the site, rebuilt the Google Business Profile, then the monthly work: titles, indexing, an area page, guides, the review routineThird in the map pack for the main search by week five, from not listed; clicks from Google up 500%; 98 out of 100 for mobile speedPercentages from a small base flatter: single figures to dozens, not to thousands. The competitive search still sits on page two.
A tuning site, rebuilt in place, 2026No redesign: rewrote the pages that needed it, fixed the images, removed what slowed the site, kept every addressPageSpeed mobile score 65 to 96, measured on the live site the week afterSpeed is immediate and verifiable; ranking effects take months and mix with everything else that changed.
A recording studio in Wrexham, existing siteTechnical and AI-readiness pass: structured data, titles, indexing, the pages an AI assistant reads when asked for a studio in the areaPasses every technical check we run; named in AI answers for its own searchesWe did not build the site. Being named by an AI assistant is not a booking.
A translation agency in Varna, Bulgaria, site in three languagesTechnical and AI-readiness pass on a site in Bulgarian, English and a third language, including hreflang and the switchPasses every check; every language version indexed with the right hreflang pairNot Welsh, but the same three-language plumbing our bilingual builds use.
Our own 22-page niche site, August 2026Built on the stack every client site uses, sitemap dated per page and submitted at launchHalf the site indexed by Google within four daysA clean build indexes fast; ranking is a separate question and took the usual months.

What the numbers mean

Read them the way we do

The map pack result matters most for a local business and happened fastest, because the Google Business Profile moves in weeks where pages take a season. It was earned by the profile being set up properly and by reviews arriving steadily, and the site's part was to agree with the profile and to load fast enough that the click became a call. The 500% is real and it is small: a business with almost no clicks from Google now has dozens a month. We show the percentage because it is honest about the direction and the caveat because it is honest about the size.

The speed numbers you can check yourself: put any site into Google's PageSpeed Insights and read the mobile score. 98 on a new build and 65 to 96 on a rebuild are what our stack does as a matter of course, and they matter in Wales more than most places, because the customer in the Dyfi valley is on a weak 4G signal. The three-language site is where the bilingual method was tested before it was offered here, and the mistakes we found on it are the ones on the bilingual checklist.

Worked example

A bilingual holiday-let site: what we would report, once it exists

This is a worked example, not a client. There are no numbers because it has not happened. It is here so you can see what the report would measure.

Three cottages near Aberdaron, a Booking.com listing, an English-only site from 2018 and a Welsh-speaking owner. The build would be a Business site with the bilingual add-on, Welsh first, a booking engine embedded, and the register and levy explained on their own page. The monthly report would show four things: the share of bookings that came direct rather than through the platform, with the commission that share saved; the share of visits and bookings through the Welsh pages; the map pack and results positions for “cottages Aberdaron” in both languages; and the mobile speed score, because the Llŷn's signal is the test. At month six we would say whether the direct share had moved enough to cover the tier, and if not, why not.

What you will not find here

The things that are easy to fake

Testimonials without a name, a business and a date you can check. Percentages without the two numbers they came from. Ranking screenshots from a tool set to a different country. Logos of organisations we did not work for. A counter of clients served that goes up on its own. Reviews on this site at all: ours are on Trustpilot and Google where we cannot edit them.

Be the first Welsh case

Your numbers here, with the caveats attached

When a site we build in Wales has six months of data, it goes on this page with your approval of the draft, anonymised if you prefer, and with the parts that did not work beside the parts that did.
